This Privacy Policy describes how Lungu, operated by Veece Global Enterprises, collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use the Lungu mobile application and related services.

By using the Lungu application, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Important: Lungu is a professional networking platform. We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your data with advertisers or marketing networks. Your data is used only to operate and improve the Lungu platform.

1. Information We Collect

When you create and use a Lungu account, we collect the following personal information directly from you:

Full Name
Email Address
Password (encrypted and stored securely)
Location (city/region you provide)
Profile Picture (if you choose to upload one)

Automatically Collected Information

When you use the Lungu app, we and our service providers automatically collect certain technical information:

Device Information: Device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and advertising ID (Android)
App Activity: Screen views, in-app actions, session duration, and feature usage
Crash Data: Error reports and diagnostic information
IP Address: Approximate location derived from your IP address
In-app Purchase Events: Transaction data (but not full payment details)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

Create and manage your user account
Display your professional profile within the platform
Connect users with professional skills and opportunities
Improve the functionality and user experience of the application
Maintain the security and integrity of the platform
Analyze app performance and fix crashes
Comply with legal obligations

3. Third-Party Services

Lungu uses trusted third-party services to operate. These services process your data only as necessary to provide their functionality:

Firebase (Google): We use Firebase Authentication, Firebase Cloud Storage, and Firebase Analytics. Firebase Analytics automatically collects device identifiers, advertising IDs, IP addresses, screen views, and app interaction data. This data helps us understand how users interact with Lungu so we can improve the app.
Firebase Crashlytics (Google): Collects crash reports and diagnostic data to help us fix bugs and improve app stability.
Capacitor Plugins: Provide native device functionality such as haptics, keyboard management, status bar, and browser features. These process data locally on your device.

All data you provide (name, email, profile picture, etc.) is stored on Firebase (Google Cloud). Google acts as our service provider and processes data on our behalf, not for their own purposes. Learn more about Google's Privacy Policy.

4. Profile Visibility

Lungu is a professional skills platform. Your profile information such as name, location, profile picture, and professional details are visible to other users of the platform to enable networking and skill discovery. This is a core feature of the service.

If you do not want certain information visible, please do not include it in your profile.

5. Data Security

We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. These measures include encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and encryption at rest (Firebase default encryption).

However, no method of electronic storage or transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal compliance (e.g., tax or fraud prevention records).

7. Your Rights and How to Opt Out

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
Correction: Update or correct inaccurate information in your profile
Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data (available within the app or by email)
Data Portability: Request a machine-readable copy of your data
Opt Out: Request that we stop processing your data for analytics purposes

How to Opt Out

If you want to opt out of any data processing (including analytics), you have two options:

Option 1: Delete your account
You can delete your account directly within the Lungu app. This will remove all your personal data from our systems within 30 days.

Option 2: Email us
Send an email to compliance@lungu.xyz with the subject line "Opt Out Request". In your email, please include:

The email address associated with your Lungu account
Your full name
Whether you want to (a) delete your data, (b) stop analytics tracking only, or (c) both

Your Right to Know

You have the right to request information about the categories of personal information we collect, use, disclose, share, or process about you, including:

The categories of personal information collected
The purposes for collecting or processing that information
The categories of third parties or service providers with whom information is shared
The specific pieces of personal information we hold about you

Lungu does not sell your personal information to third parties for monetary compensation.

Lungu does not share personal information with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising purposes as defined under applicable California privacy laws.

Your Right to Opt Out of the Sale or Sharing of Personal Information

Users may exercise their right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information by contacting us at compliance@lungu.xyz.

You have the right to opt out of:

The sale of your personal information
The sharing of personal information for targeted advertising
Profiling or automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects

At this time, Lungu does not sell personal data, does not share personal data for targeted advertising purposes, and does not engage in automated profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

If our practices change in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any legally required opt-out mechanisms.

We will respond to your request within 30 days. If you request to stop analytics tracking, we will disable Firebase Analytics for your device moving forward. Some analytics data collected before your opt-out cannot be retroactively deleted.

You can also opt out at the device level: Android users can reset or limit ad tracking in device settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads → Delete advertising ID / Opt out of ad personalization).

8. Children's Privacy

Lungu is not intended for individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately so we can delete it.

9. International Users

Lungu operates globally. If you are using Lungu from outside your home country, please be aware that your data may be transferred to, stored, and processed in countries where our servers (Firebase/Google Cloud) are located, which may have different data protection laws than your country.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by:

Posting the updated policy within the Lungu app
Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
Sending an email to registered users (for significant changes)
